AC Collection / Bali
Bali is not one destination, it is ten. Surf towns, cliffside bays, rice terraces and volcano valleys, each with its own rhythm. This guide tells you where to stay for the trip you have in mind, and shows the private villas we can book for you in each area.
Choose the area before the villa. In Bali, traffic decides your holiday more than the house does: a beautiful villa in the wrong place means two hours a day in a car.
For beach clubs, restaurants and a social trip, stay on the west coast between Seminyak, Berawa, Canggu and Pererenan. For ocean views and surf, go south to Uluwatu. For culture, jungle and wellness, go inland to Ubud. For total quiet with a volcano on the horizon, Sidemen. For calm beaches and families, Nusa Dua.
A villa gives a group its own pool, garden and staff, at a cost per person that is often lower than several five-star rooms. Breakfast is cooked in the house, a private chef can take over for dinner, and nobody shares the pool with strangers.
Every house is chosen by Anthony Campana, a Superhost for ten years with more than 1,000 reviews across booking platforms and a 4.9 average rating.
Beyond the houses published on this site, we have direct access to more than 200 private villas across the island through the management companies we work with. Many of them are listed nowhere. Tell the concierge your dates, group and budget, and you receive a personal shortlist at direct rates.
It depends on the trip. Canggu, Pererenan and Berawa suit groups who want restaurants and beach clubs nearby. Uluwatu suits ocean views and surf. Ubud suits culture and wellness. Sidemen and the rice field villas around Ubud suit couples and families who want silence.
The dry season, from April to October, is the most reliable. July, August, Christmas and New Year are the busiest and most expensive periods, so the best villas are booked months ahead. The wet season, from November to March, brings short tropical showers and better availability.
For July, August and the Christmas period, three to six months ahead for large villas. For the rest of the year, a few weeks is usually enough, and last minute deals are possible.
Booking direct avoids the guest service fees charged by the large booking platforms. You also deal with a person who knows the house and the team running it, which matters when you need a chef, a driver or a late check-out.
